The flip phone form factor is quickly becoming a popular option for consumers and brands worldwide, and it seems that Xiaomi is finally joining in. This was revealed this week as Xiaomi announced its plans to launch the Mix Flip, its first flip phone, showing off its stunning design. The Chinese manufacturer revealed this to its home market as the company looks to unveil it on July 19 alongside the Redmi K70 Ultra. Xiaomi posted on Weibo, teasing some of the specs that will be available on this new model.
The Xiaomi Mix Flip will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 paired up with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. The main talking point has obviously been the design, particularly the outer screen that measures in at 4.01 inches with 1600 nit brightness. The outer display also seems to support full apps as well as “smart hanging windows” which could be widget panels. The screen is also expected to support a full-size keyboard. According to the posts from Xiaomi, the flip phone also packs a 4,780mAh battery which is quite huge in comparison to other models like the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6.
The Mix Flip will definitely be expected to be a huge rival to the Galaxy Z Flip 6, following its recent launch on July 10. A huge part of this will be the Xiaomi phone’s pricing as it contains very similar specs to the Samsung model.
